St Patrick Budapest: The Original Green Night Experience
A Funny St Patrick Budapest Pub Crawl 2026
St Patrick Budapest is one of the most awaited nights in the calendar and this is the most Chicago way to celebrate it. The Irish spirit is about laughing with strangers (and drinking). That’s why it mixes so well with any local tradition.
It is true it’s not a Hungarian thing, but it is a hundred percent part of the Budapest spirit in March. There will be parades, loud music in the streets, some cultural activities, and in the bars, people as drunk as an Irish. The Danube won’t turn green as in Chicago, but everything else will, even the beers.

St Patrick Budapest Pub Crawl
Multi everything as the colours of the rainbow
The ambiance is 100% multicultural, multisensational and multiplaces. You will meet backpackers speaking in weird languages, travelers mixed with a lot and a lot of locals that just come here every Tuesday (or every day). You’ll meet, definitely you’ll meet these people, they won’t be just part of the wall decor. This is the idea of our Pub Crawl Budapest Hungary.
Doesn’t matter if you are here on your own for business or for backpacking, or even if you’re with friends, you can take them with you. You might not leave with the same people you start at the night, that’s important to know and always for the better. Maybe you’ll be your new best friend forever or your half orange.
Ruin Bars and Irish-Themed Atmosphere
The route, as always, includes some ruin bars jus like we do in our Christmas Party Budapest. Those are emblematical and they are old, very old buildings that had a tough history. You will get this mix of decadence of the past and the futuristic present and that will keep you awake. The Irish thematic atmosphere is granted so you can come dressed as a leprechaun or as anything related to Ireland. That’s always a plus.
Guided Flow and Night Resistance
The guided experience means 0% stress. Just forget about planning your own route. The guide will take care, he or she will have already selected the places, and hyped up the energy. And, also, he or she will keep you safe if there’s any issue. He will cheer the group with games and icebreaking interactions. Normally we end the route around 1 or 2, but after that you can stay in the disco till 4 or 6, and if you want to keep connecting to other parties, you can do it.

Why everyone wants to join the St Patrick Budapest Pub Crawl
Four Reasons to go Full Green on budapest
On the green night, our route curators have found the most Irishy places to drink and celebrate
Budapest’s flow
The route is prepared by local guides, it is not an improv, although it feels like it.
Everyone’s invited
It doesn't matter if you are here on your own for business or for backpacking, or even if you're with friends, couple or lover, you can take them with you.
Green Is an Icebreakerk
You can go all green, although most will wear just one item or two with that color. In any case, the more the green, the more luck. Coming alone is fine; on this night, your outfit can introduce you before you say your name.
Not Just Drinking
This crawl gives you drinks, yes, but also structure, movement, games, hosts and a group that keeps the celebration from becoming just another pint

St Patrick Budapest Party FAQ
What should I wear on St. Patrick’s Day?
?
Wear something green. It can be a t-shirt, scarf, shamrock glasses, glitter, Irish flag on your cheek…). It all depends on your commitment level. You can also put on a “Kiss me, I’m Irish” shirt if you want the room to start talking. A more conservative yet lucky alternative is wearing green socks.
What does “Chuckie à la” mean in Irish?
Hm. it’s probably “Tiocfaidh ár lá,” anglicised as “Chucky ar la.” It means “our day will come,” but it is not a neutral St. Patrick’s Day toast. The phrase is associated with Irish republican politics and Troubles-era slogans, so it can have that sense for many irish. A friendlier irish word to remember: “Sláinte” for “cheers,”.
What is the origin of “Kiss me, I’m Irish”?
The phrase is usually linked to a legendary tale about a stone( Blarney Stone) in a castle. Kissing the stone gave someone the “gift of gab” — charm, eloquence and persuasive speech. The joke nowadays is that the second best thing to traveling to Ireland and kissing the stone, is kissing an Irish person.
Do they celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Budapest?
Yes. Budapest has an organized St. Patrick’s celebration, not just random green energy in a few points in town. During the day, the mood is cultural and public; at night the same people magically turn more social in the Irish pubs, ruin bars and party venues that hold great energy.
