Budapest Wine Festival! It’s grape time and the Budapest wine festival is the ultimate homage. An entire week focused on having a designated driver. But also way more ha ha. Wine culture and its unique atmosphere brings together locals and travellers; young and old; early birds and night owls… For one of the most iconic settings in Hungary. A real dreamy location for a wine festival in budapest The place is the Bor Fesztivál castle. An authentic postcard place. It’s that kind of place that lacks dragons to be a complete fairytale. It is celebrated on the terraces, on the patios and on the boulevard Budavari Palota. You go for a drink and end up with the skyline of the Danube castle, with savory wines; delightful music that matches the skies of September… And everything guided by a master in its art, a proper sommelier from the Danube region. The hours of wine Do buy your ticket in advance; even consider putting an alarm for the early bird sale because they sell faster than Froccs in summer. The schedule allows you to enjoy the festival both in the afternoon sunshine and at night, when the castle lights and the music paint a picture of renaissance in your memoire. Getting in the wine festival To get in, you can buy your bracelet before getting there. If you buy it online, the ticket must be changed with a physical item, a bracelet most probably, close by the entrance of the festival. One thing that is a common mistake is to think that you have an open bar inside. That’s not how it works. First there is an entrance fee and then you pay for each glass in every stand. Official Cup and other rules What comes with the entrance are many things: shows, activities and the first drink. Just don’t lose your ticket. Everyone there will serve you just on the official cup, so don’t lose that either. Nor bring your glasses from home. We’ve seen things in previous seasons. Inside, everything is paid with a credit card. And that’s it. no more rules. Have fun and wine! Surprise, surprise; culture and Museums Something that not everyone knows is that with this entrance, you also get a free entry to the Budapest History Museum. So that’s a thing to take advantage of. Safe and sound The organisation matches the scale of the Budapest Wine Festival, ensuring that thousands of visitors can move around the castle terraces safely. It’s an environment designed ( and it feels like it) for enjoyment, but also prepared for any unexpected situation. alwyas have in mind the rules about safe and on what to be careful in Budapest. Extra tip: you can take your dog with a (mandatory) leash. But it is not recommendable because there will be drunk people and there might be broken crystals on the ground. Every year worth and wortherer The attendance at this festival is surprisingly high! Not surprisingly, but do expect a big crowd. Locals and expats love it; people come with friends, couples, and even family. We recommend matching this top wine time with a top street time in Budapest. Joining our private pub crawl Budapest is the green flag option to do it. You will get the more classy side of uh Budapest with nice wine, history, art, sunshine hiding in the Danube. And the next day the down to earth celebration with cero filters and cero inhibitions. An amazing way to appreciate the both poles of this city. Just don’t drink too much and have an amazing day and night. Discover more info in our blog.

What to Be Careful of in Budapest? Budapest is one of the wildest European capitals to go out for a night. It’s the only place where you will find actual pubs in ruins that are meant to be like that, that inside are a completely different story. Prices are a magnet to Europeans, at least it used to be ike that. They still have an incredible quality-price ratio. But being carefree and cheap doesn’t mean that everything is allowed. There’s a ton of disclaimers, as any city in the world would have. These are the unwritten rules, the little scams, and some illegal stuff that you probably didn’t know about Budapest. If you go straight naive, some bitter things might end up happening and leaving you as in ruins as the party buildings. So here is the tutorial for more parties and less drama. Pickpockets and Crowded Party Areas So there are pickpocketers in the top zones and also on public transportation, like the metro. They are very quick, so where there are a lot of people, uh, have your backpack in the front and your cell phone deep in your pocket (not in your back pocket). During a hostel pub crawl Budapest, especially if there are a lot of people, do mind your belongings because losing your phone or wallet is a mood killer to say the least. Public Transportation Rules and Inspectors Always validate your public transportation tickets because in the BKK, a ticket has to be always validated. If not, you can have a fine. And when the inspector gives you this fine, you have to demand a receipt. Never pay directly to him/her. There are weird inspectors. The real ones, they always give you this receipt. So if the guy/girl doesn’t give you one, he’s not an official one. This happens, but it’s not usual at all. Money Exchange and ATM Scams Try to avoid changing your money, your euros into Hungarian money in the center of the city. Try to do that in some bank. Some atm might charge you a lot and they will get a high commission with lots of tiny letters, so that’s a kind of a scam. And the same goes for independent ATMs. Try to avoid the Euronet or Travelex ones when you can. They usually put extra charges and it’s not the best trade. So look for the original bank ATMs. When you pay with card, always choose HUF, the local money, that way the bank does the conversion. That’s way better than choosing euros, for example, or dollars. That’s how you get the best rate of exchange. Is Street Drinking a thing? First of all, regarding transportation, taxis… They are okay, but don’t get into a cab that just appears out of the blue in the tourist zones. It’s way better if you call one or if you book through an app, or you ask the hotel for one. And regarding public drinking, it can definitely get you a fine. It is not allowed, and especially if you’re in a noisy group or if you have a beer in hand: just stay low profile and keep in mind it is not legal. What to Be Careful of in Budapest? Drinks, Girls, and Street Invitations There have been some very, very, very few cases of people putting something in your drink. So as in any part of the world, you should always be vigilant about the glass and the drink you’re having. If something gets weird, just change the place and let the people you’re with know what you are hinting at something unusual. There are very nice girls that can invite you to a bar. That’s their job. They kind of are interested in your money and when the check comes out, it’s usually astronomical. So don’t let be fished in the street. Just say no and keep on the pop crawl. What to Be Careful of in Budapest? Drugs, IDs, and Police Issues Regarding drugs, Hungary is no joke. The possession or consumption is an illegal matter. And the rules have actually become harder. So if you are in a pub crawl, don’t taste and don’t keep and don’t sell and don’t share drugs. Do bring your ID. This has to always be with you, especially in the night, especially in a pub crawl. And yeah, bring the real one, not just a copy. May you find that in some streets Budapest can eb sketchy at night. What to Be Careful of in Budapest? Party District Rules and Fines Something regarding the party district, restrictions are noise. There is a party, it is completely loud, the pub crawls, but don’t put on a show in the street that can end up in a complaint or a visit to the cops. Don’t get the glass out of the pub. Just drink inside and then go for a smoke or just leave the club, but leave your drinks inside. And the last thing you have to take care about is to, if they catch you peeing outside, it’s a big fine and eternal shame, so don’t do it. Just go inside a bar and ask for the bathroom. The Pub Crawl Advice So yeah, if you want to keep just one idea, let it be this one. Budapest is enjoyed way better when you mix smart chaos with common sense. Respect the city, take care of your people, don’t drink that much, and just be surrounded by people you feel safe with. Don’t get out of the script, of the legal script, even if you hit an after the pub crawl. Follow these easy precautions and have a memorable night full of music and beautiful moments.

Is Budapest Sketchy at Night? A Pubcrawling Reality Check Is Budapest Sketchy at Night… or Just Intense? Budapest has this infamous slogan of being wild, cheap, and without boundaries. And yes, it might be true, but the sketchy question is 100% legit. The short answer is that it is not at all dangerous if you know some things about the city, although it is not Disneyland. As any capital in Europe with a hardcore nightlife, the key part is to know the terrain, read the signs, and read this blog. So, in general, it is not per se sketchy, but it is touristy and sometimes chaotic. Is Budapest Sketchy at Night Compared to Other European Capitals? Budapest is widely considered a pretty safe city with really low crime rates, but at night, you can find some statistics about scams or pickpocketing or even someone stealing your things. Very low statistics, but it is there. The city is pretty safe, but you never know. the Party District When in the middle of the crowd.. In the party district you have to be a little more alert. It’s the zone of partying, which concentrates the most drunken people not taking care of their cell phones and a lot of crowds: the best scenario for pickpockets. They do steal but never with a knife. It’s always a surprise. Keep your backpack on the front and your cell phone under a zipped pocket. …And When Moving Around. The night transportation is safe, but also play smart. Don’t push your luck too hard and meander in dangerous neighborhoods. And, yeah, don’t get in alleys, in dark alleys, just look for the light where there’s people and don’t stroll too much out of your route. One of the best ideas to join a Budapest guided pub crawl where there are experts guides in nightlife. For sure more secure and more fun. Taxis and ATMs? Some basic touristy Red Flags When you get to the airport, go to the official tourist taxi kiosk. Otherwise taxi drivers will try to convince you to take a ride to the center with them, and they will charge you whatever they want. Another precaution is related to ATMs. Choose the ones inside the bank or just avoid the sketchy ATMs in the middle of nowhere. There have been some statistics about skimming, so don’t roll that dice not even during the daytime. Is Budapest Sketchy at Night in Bars and Restaurants? If you go to a bar where there is no menu, there are just people telling you what the menu is, that’s a red flag. just say you need the clear prices. This scam happens more than you would expect. In some places, if they come with an astronomical bill out of the blue, don’t make a scandal, they are ready for you to do that. Just pay the minimum reasonable for you, take a picture of it, and get out and call the police. Meeting New People Express Friendships and Solo Travel Awareness Beware of “express friendships” that are too soon, too intense. They might have another plan in mind than just friendship. They might want to steal you or something, so just say no. Is always better to take your time and know where to go in Budapest for nightlife to avoid bad experiences. If you are traveling alone, there’s a golden rule, especially if you’re a girl, just share your location. It’s not paranoid, it’s like a pro play. Tell someone where are you going and that’s it. Is Budapest Sketchy at Night Regarding Legal and Personal Safety? Take your ID with you, like always. In Hungary, they can ask you for your ID and they won’t always accept a photocopy. It’s better to bring the real one with you. Pubcrawlers verdict At the end of the day it’s not at all a scary city, not even at night. But it also isn’t any city that forgives an extremely naive person. It’s a hardcore party city, so you can have legendary nights and memories, but always maintain your radar on and don’t confuse “party” with a “total blackout disconnection”. Take care of your things, choose wisely where you enter and drink with your head. That’s all it takes so get an unforgettable time in sweet Budapest.

Where to go in Budapest for nightlife? Wondering Where to go in Budapest for nightlife? Let’s share a 2026 fresh list! Here the party doesn’t follow the typical rules. The bars are abandoned buildings. The clubs are hidden in them and in other places. Some boats, they just have a party over the water, and you can also have spring baths turned into rave parties. So if you wonder where to go out in Budapest, the short answer is many, many, many places. And the long answer starts here. Of course, Start with the ruin pubs in District 7 The first thing to put in your bucket list are the ruin pubs. They are in the Jewish quarter, district 7. That’s the heart of all the party. You will find out why they are called ruin bars when you get there, but inside you’ll find a completely different story. You will probably get lost in their multi-room arenas, something you won’t see anywhere else in the world. Dont forget what to wear in ruin bars in Budapest to enjoy the most! Everything inside is chaotic and artistic. It’s hard to describe so many things going on. It’s like a labyrinth inside the head of Alice in Wonderland. THE usual suspect when going out Simpla Kert is a name you’ll hear, it’s one of the bars of the buildings in ruins. Everything inside is chaotic and artistic. It’s hard to describe so many things going on. It’s like something of a David Lynch movie. One of the many cores in party town Instant Fogas is a mix of two legendary ruin bars and a mega club with multiple dance floors. The beats are just something out of this world. They can change from the Tahitian melodies to hardcore Hungarian pop, reggaeton, even rock, whatever is on your mind, they have it, you just have to find the room. Where to go in Budapest for nightlife if you want classic clubs and dance floors Morrison 2 Club, it’s a classic, it’s a popular disco with a great music taste. The ambiance is always super cheerful, and it’s a magical option if you want to dance all night long. Peach and Cream, great for rhythms and a good sensation, good like a chill place. You’ll hear R&B fresh hits and old (really old) ones. The crowd here is mostly international. Maybe not mostly, but it’s a cool mix. It’s the best place to let yourself go and meet people. Where to go in Budapest for nightlife after bars close Aquarium Club is like hitting an actual aquarium of music. The DJs there are amazing. It’s the ideal alternative to keep on the night after the classical bars close. A nice plan is to hit the Aquarium Club and then go to breakfast. Unique answers to where to go in Budapest for nightlife Party boats on the Danube A38 bar is a party in a boat. It’s something unique and you get into the Danube and into a party that doesn’t stop where it started. It’s a definitive must do if you have never partied in a boat before. Rooftop bars and panoramic nightlife views And then last but not least, we have the rooftops. They are amazing for the views, of course, but also for the decoration. 360 Bar or the High Note will get your night to the stars with their panoramic view and very stylish cocktails, totally something out of this world. Where to go in Budapest for nightlife? Let District 7 guide you So there are many other names, but if you start with this list, you will get most of Budapest. Something super recommendable is just to walk everywhere you want through district seven. Strolling around here will get you where you actually need to be. And if you want to get the most out of your time in town, our recommendation is to book a pub crawl Budapest, that’s the smart play: get four places in one night and everthying with locals and internationals. Well, as you can see we have more info about nightlife in Budapest. Get to know all the tips.

What to Wear to Ruin Bars in Budapest? Wondering what to wear to Ruin Bars in Budapest? First of all, info upfront: you can definitely come as you are, as the song says. But if you’re planning to bring super comfy things and be ready to dance… There are some unspoken rules you should follow. There are a lot of things to say about this subject, especially because this is not a picky city. It is not anything posh either. Budapest is total freedom, but don’t leave your head at home. Understanding the Ruin Bar Vibe: What to Wear to Ruin Bars in Budapest The first thing is that you have to have zero stress with the dress code. These clubs are on the casual, maybe more high-end side of casual, but casual. You can dress as creative as you want, even bohemian. Everything vintage is welcome. Everything hippie, retro jackets, graffiti shirts, any accessory even if you are a little disguised. Just don’t push your look that hard. Just fit with the group and do avoid looking like a tourist. Casual, Creative and Survivable Style for Budapest Ruin Bars The key is to look good, but don’t overdress. This is more of a hardcore place than a fancy one. Jeans or a no-problemo pants, a great option. If you want glam, just use clean shoes. The attitude should match the respectful city and also the wild energy. Dress to move, to mix, and to end the night in the best place on earth. Remember always at what time do people go to bars in Budapest and what time you eweill be out. Is not the same to go in middle of the day to a rooftop ruin bar than to a night bar. Layers Are Key A super recommendable tip for the winter parties. Inside you can sweat like a beast, but outside you can get frozen in minutes. There will be a change of temperatures from ins and outs, so bring and overshirt, hoodie or a light jacket even for a short smoke. Have no doubts bringing a scarf, hat, gloves when it’s winter. It can be really, really cold outside. Coats, Garderobes and Moving In and Out All Night Don’t let your coat get on the way. Put it in the guardrobe or some places have a kert, a garden with heat in it. If you go in and out for a thousand times, bring something that is easy to take in your hand. Sometimes there’s a guardrobe, but on some crowded nights, the people just end up dancing with them, so don’t bother worrying about this, that’s not a problem. Shoes should work on many surfaces Truth is, you will have many textures on the floor. Metal stairs, cobblestones, patios, outside, inside, sticky floors, chipped concrete… The dance floors are not the usual ones, the texture is always changing so do look for something all-terrain. Just don’t bring your trekking shoes, though. We don’t recommend that you bring your high heels. Not at all. The floors are irregular, just to say the least. You will find weird furniture, something on the industrial side, so yeah, it can be incompatible with a glamorous outfit. Accessories and Practical Tips for Pubcrawling Ruin Bars A good tip is that you bring your fanny pack. And in your wallet, bring a little cash, but not that much. Almost everywhere you can play with credit cards. And if you are extremely sweaty, you can bring an extra T-shirt. In the case you’re hitting a backpacker pub crawl Budapest, have in mind things are going to get so high energy that everyone is going to sweat at one point. Makeup, Sweat and Temperature Shock And regarding makeup, remember inside it’s very hot and outside very cold. So don’t bring something washable. Bring something or use something resistant, something that you can retouch fast, not a wedding makeup. Budapest Without Drama Budapest is total freedom, it really is if you know what to wear. Layers in winter; comfy shoes all year long. Have your attitude matching the civilised side of the city (but also the wild energy). You can come as you are, but dress to survive the night, to dance, to mix, and to end the night in the best place on earth. Enjoy more articles about nightlife in Budapest and know all about it.

What time do people go to bars in Budapest? Wondering at What time do people go to bars in Budapest? It’s not just, let’s get out at 7 and come back at 12. No, the night here usually starts very slow and it gets pretty serious, pretty slow. This is an unspoken rule of the 7th district, where the people just get into a train of ruin bars, cocktails, and clubs till the sun rises. Why timing is everything for pub crawling The key when thinking about timing is doing as the experts do: our Budapest ultimate pub crawl. They know when is the best time for chilling in a bar and also hitting the club at the perfect time. But there are other things that locals do best. The after work time is between 6 and 8 during the week every day. So, yeah, you can always find some locals with beer or wine, relaxing and chatting. You can join them, it’s always an ideal way of warming up. The first wave: 6–10 pm A goldilocks crowd trick is to get there at 7. That’s the sweet spot, the perfect moment to find a comfortable place inside and resist the first wave. Around 8 (and up until 10), the big bars start to get packed with people, especially from Thursday till Sunday. And at 21, you already can sense change in the air. There’s a difference if you go on a Tuesday or a Wednesday. It’s way easier to have a spot on the bar. But if you go on the weekend, there’s a lot more chaos, lines, but also more random good things that can happen to you. Ruin bars prime time: 10 pm–midnight The best time to get there is between 10 and midnight. On the weekend, that’s where the crowd gets in. So try joining a pub crawl to avoid this waiting in the street part. And don’t forget that the alcohol selling time in places is up to 10. So after that, it’s just bars and discos. So if you want to have something at home, buy it earlier. Midnight decisions: bars or clubs? And what happens between midnight and 2 a.m., that’s where people say, do we keep on going or do we go clubbing? So that’s very flexible, it’s up to you completely. Clubs are already packed so it’s a great atmosphere since the second one; but if the bar you’re at is at its peak, stay there. Try checking Google Maps for reviews of the places you visit. After 4 a.m.? Learning the all-nighter culture in Budapest And after 4, there’s a still life. Especially in the summer. But also in the winter; you can keep on going and you can even connect with an after party. The local vibe is not to have any issue with an all-nighter. The city is made for that, the pubs, everything is, the party here is hardcore, definitely. So that’s Budapest, it gets hot late. Rooftops, ruin bars, and letting the night flow But if you’re tired of them, try hitting the rooftops. They are more of a classy, stylish thing to do, and you can have, no doubt about it, the best cocktails in town. And then you can just, after two or three cocktails, go to earth and hit the ruin bars. We recommend starting with something chilly and just letting yourself flow like the Danube. Always have in mind, in case you are a profesional dinrjer, to see first if the alcohol is expensive in Budapest. The easy solution And if you don’t want to think about any of this, just join a pub crawl and the guide will make all the best decisions for you. He will be taking you and the group to the best places in town!. Get all the information about the night in Budapest with us.

Is alcohol expensive in Budapest? Wondering if alcohol is expensive in Budapest? Let’s find out in a sober way. As you may or may not know, Budapest is not cheap, cheap, at least not as it used to be. But if you go, it is still way more gentle for the pockets than other capitals in Europe. So you can play your cards well and have a luxury experience without paying luxury prices. Is alcohol expensive in Budapest compared to other European capitals? The HUF, the local coin, has an advantage if you come from the eurozone. So everything looks expensive, but it’s actually cheaper than the rest of Europe. Also, try to remember the conversion trick. Look for the exchange rate every day. Beer prices in Budapest bars and ruin pubs For example, in a local bar, an average beer, a pint, costs approx between 1,200 HOF or 2,000. That’s typical for ruin bars. And for a Romkoskma, something reasonable is between 1,200 to 1,800 Huf the beer. Happy hours and on Erasmus nights are an actual thing. You can find huge discounts on beer on those nights. Even at 900 HUF. Craft beer is a little bit more expensive, it’s the artisan version of the lager, so expect a cocktail price for a craft beer. Cocktail, shots, and party prices in Budapest nightlife Cocktails are up to 3,500, and if it’s an Instagrammable place, expect even more. Shots inside the party can be around 1,400 Huf. That’s the average price. The most expensive can maybe be the price of alcohol in festivals, those long drinks can be up to 3,500 HUF and they will charge you extra for the reusable cup. Does location affect alcohol prices in Budapest? Of course. In some touristy zones close to the center, in the district 5 or the district 7, they can charge on a Friday night even way more than that. So if you get out of these zones like 10 minutes out or 15 minutes walking, prices get waaaay down. Id you dont know where to go in Budapest for bars and clubs is better to make a pub crawl. How to drink smart and save money while pub crawling in Budapest And what we would recommend is that you drink at home so as not to spend that much money first. Have an Aperol, half a liter beer, a pint that costs 300 Huf. And then hit the bars. That’s the smart pre-drink alternative if you’re really into alcohol. Making our original Budapest pub crawl is the best way to drink in fair price while discovering the night of Budapest. Different bars with access included and drinks in fair price will make your night a great one. Also because comming with more people is always better that go by your own. Taxes, extra charges, and why alcohol feels more expensive The IVA in Hungary is quite expensive, it’s 27%, and for the alcohol usually, they charge you extra for that. So when you’re in a restaurant, especially look for that. Some places, they also ask for an extra charge, even an extra 15%. So look at the bill before tipping. There are special taxes in Hungary, so… It’s normal that every year alcohol gets more expensive. Is alcohol expensive in Budapest today? It depends on the day you’re reading this. Put in 2026, to say everything in one word, Budapest definitely is not an expensive city to go out, but neither is it the paradise of 2016. It’s a mix between street prices and super happy hour… Choosing the neighborhood always helps. You can go out in a hardcore style and just spend smartly. And that, for a city that has such a good party scene, this is a golden tip.

You can find huge discounts on beer on those nights. Even at 900 HUF. Craft beer is a little bit more expensive, it’s the artisan version of the lager, so expect a cocktail price for a craft beer.

Where to go in Budapest bars? You’re heading to district 7, but where to go in Budapest bars?? How about starting in layers? Start uphill, on the rooftops, get the views of the city, breathe that unmistakable Hungarian air, and then the rest of the night will be a swift descent. Ruin bars will be your destination. The idea is not rushing anything, but letting the night build itself naturally. Discover the mandatory jewels the city hides in its heart or remember the names we have for you. District 7 The mental map you’ll need is a district 7 map. This is the classical zone to start a strong. The main street is Kaczynski. The other important ones are: Akácfa Street, Wesselényi Street and Gozsdu Udvar passage. They concentrate all the ruin bars and the crowds. So get ready for an unforgettable party. Names to remebember in Romkocsma Romkocsma = Ruin bars. Everyone in Europe has heard of them. We know, the name doesn’t sound that good, but they are everything than literal ruins. They are full of beating and buzzing life: eclectic art, music, and a lot of fancy, stylish partying inside. They’re the opposite of a broken bar, they’re recycled buildings with random decoration and many, many, many rooms. Each place feels different, and that randomness is exactly what makes them so famous. Szimpla Kert, that ‘s maybe the most iconic place to go out in Budapest. It’s the first and the most famous. A labyrinth of rooms that’s like getting inside Alice in Wonderland’s head. And the atmosphere there is always a living organism. If you want to come in without feeling you’re inside a can of sardines, go early, really early. The other places are Instant Fogas, which are more complex and way bigger. It has something for everyone. And, hey!, you might lose some of your friends at the beginning of the night and then find them back at the end. Maybe you’ll make new ones or find love. How knows? Special among the special Or a super recommendable place is Doboz. It’s directly just clubbing more than a bar. You can go there as a bar plan, but you will end up dancing hardcore techno or reggaeton. Go check out the patio and find your crowd in one of its amazing rooms. This place naturally pushes the night into a more intense direction. More bars on the chilly/artistic side Csendes Létterem is another amazing place. It’s more low-key, the revolutions are a little bit lower, without losing in the hype. A lil bit weird (in a wood way lol), artistic, a lot more chill than the giant ones. It’s simply ideal for a first date or if you are looking for a chat with a drink in your hand. Mazel Tov is something unique, it’s a cultural temple. The aesthetic is creative, the plans are mixed between cultural and drinking, so you don’t find that in almost any place. It’s a super middle term place before everything goes to chaos land. Will discover why is Budapest good for Bars in just one day. Where to go in Budapest bars for cocktails, dates, and rooftops Warm Up is, it is what it describes it is, it’s a place to go before you hit the clubs. It’s just perfect to have a cocktail. The best place for Instagram moments without the showing off part. The Boutique bar is a classic in the scene, the low lights, the… very stylish interior design, just the ideal place for a first date or second date or many dates. You see couples there all the time, and it’s quite an elegant reset from a Budapest bar tour. And finally, the last recommendations are the rooftops. Especially on the warmer nights, this plan is a total winner in Budapest. The city is as beautiful as it gets, viewed from the top of the buildings. And if you go there in winter, on some rooftops you’ll find igloos. A profile pic in Bumble for decades. At the end of the day, if you wonder where to go in Budapest bars, Just choose one to start with and then follow your bliss..

Is Budapest Good for Bars? The question is Budapest good for bars has a short answer: a solid yes. Legendary and epic, are actually common adjectives to describe this place. This place is a mix between hardcore history, hardcore creativity and hardcore partying. It’s not just a pretty city for classical tourism, it’s a magnet for nightlife for people from all europe and the whole world in fact. We’ll tell you why exactly. Is budapest good for bars and other venues? You can find here the famous ruin pubs, and we’ll talk about them, but also a lot more. Techno clubs, penthouse terraces, chic glamorous pubs are also hotspots of partying. And, beyond bars, you also have themed parties. For instance, Sparty, which is a thermal spring club. Picture that fantasy of mixing thermal baths with partying, rave music, people with almost no clothing… A must if you’re into crazy, hedonistic ambiences. The main dish Let’s talk a little bit of where-everything-takes-place, which is the District 7, the Jewish neighborhood. That’s where all the best bars in town are if you’re into partying. You just have to walk around Kazinczy Street and you’ll find rivers of party people and bars and of unexpected kinds, from the chill lounges to the really intense hardcore temples. Budapest is cheaper than most of the capitals in Europe, so let that play in your advantage. Not good, but great bars are here Now let’s talk about those famous Ruin bars. Definitely something out of a dreamy (but down to earth) fairytale book. They are something that attracts attention from everyone in Europe and in the world. They are abandoned buildings that have been recycled and rehabited with art and quirky. The result? a labyrinth of rooms that lead to patios that lead to underground venues that lead to a new bar that lead to a rooftop… You get the point. It’s just a social experience you have to get on your bucket list. Nowhere else in the world you can see this. Remember that this places are not the cheap bars in Budapest you may look for but are great. An immense complex with many, many rooms, patios, bars, all kinds of music and amusements. You can literally get lost and find your friends at the end of the night when the sun is coming up. The crown jewel of bar surfing The best bar crawl Budapest is the best option to find your best spot for nightlife in just one night.

Cheapest Pubs in Budapest: How to Find Real Local Prices Beyond the Tourist Circuit Let’s talk about the cheapest pubs in Budapest. Here you’ll find the best names and also the rules to play like a local and get the cheapest alternatives. That means less postcard ruin bars, night outs, and more Kazinczy Street (you’ll remember the name after night 1). Here are all the tips you need to know about the cheapest pubs in Budapest. At the end of the day, cheap doesn’t mean just bad quality, it’s more of a fair price, authenticity, avoiding overpricing scams. The objective is to drink without worrying about the bill. Where to Avoid Overpaying Once you leave the ultra-touristic center and step into everyday neighborhoods, ¡oh mama!, it’s a completely different story. The district you want to have look at is 5 and part of the 7th. The main part of district 7, party neighborhood, is actually super expensive compared to other parts of the city, to every other part of the city in fact. If you walk 10-15 minutes out of the ultra-touristic center, you’ll get more residential prices and you can get even half of what it costs a beer in the ruin bars. On the cheapest spectrum, you can find a lot of student bars. You can get into the university neighborhoods and avoid heavy touristic crowds and prices and just get the student fair prices. Cheapest Bars in Budapest: Learn the Word “Kocsma” and Drink Like a Local You have to learn a magical word called kocsma. In Hungarian, it means a lifelong bar, the bar that was there before the word bar was invented. So no show off, no Instagram, you just ask a person. That’s the spirit of the cheapest pubs in Budapest: simple places with authentic atmosphere, not made to fit expectations. So don’t expect no postcards or neon lights. The other word you need to learn, and these are the only two words, is froocs, which is wine with soda. It’s a classic and it’s usually way cheaper than the cocktails. So you can also make one at home, but if you go out, you can ask without any issue about it. They serve it everywhere and it’s a smart play. Don’t forget, froocs or light lager when you are choosing your drinks. Spotting Overpriced (Tourist)Traps Something you need to know is that the jug is not a pint in Hungary. You can have a lot of 0.5 liters drinks, but you can also have 0.4 liter. It is not as in the UK, so that’s the difference. Something to have in mind is that the approximate price for a beer is something between 500 and 1,000 Hufs. So use that as a radar to detect overpriced things. In some places you use to find a 900HUF for half a beer, but you don’t find that anymore. It’s something more of a historical fact, but it used to be like that before the COVID attack. If you go out after work, like always ask for happy hour time. Sometimes they move it and sometimes they just put it on a whiteboard or something, but it’s not that official, so you should always ask and you might get on time for one. Avoid these tourist trap promoters, aggressive promoters on the door. Also avoid bars that look too nice. Just get inside, look at the menu, and if it smells fishy, just leave. Nothing personal there. Today, most of the places charge you automatically 10 or 15% tip included in the bill, so check that out before giving an extra cash tip. Famous Ruin Bars vs Cheapest Pubs in Budapest: Is It Worth It? A place that you should take a look at is Simpla Kert. The first and the most famous ruin bar (and one that we visit on our pub crawl Budapest nightlife). If someone hasn’t already recommended it to you, they’re late. This is the place you want to check out, rich or poor. It is not the cheapest option, but it’s in Budapest, so the standard for expensive here can be a forgivable exception. It’s about balance, not extremes. So don’t expect no postcards or neon lights since this are not quirky bars in Budapest. And three last things Regarding transportation, just move with VKK or a 24-hour travel card. And it just changed the price last year, but it’s the best option if you want to go out and come back late every day. Always look up for promos and coupons on the internet and move with the public transport. In some places, you can get a beer tab, which is a beer passport. You get one and then you just get a perforation on your passport with every consumption. At the end of the night, you pay for every circle. It looks like a game and it feels like it. Less inhibitions on drinking and having a nice time with your friends. Just don’t drive home afterwards. So the key point is to go out, to leave the tourist circuits and ask like a
